Golf Course Rules:
Golf clubs and resorts reserve the right to refuse players onto the course and green fees will not be refunded for the following reasons:
  1. No Shows; it is the responsibility of the player to be on the tee ready to play at the time specified. Failure to do so may result in course officials refusing to let players onto the course, they are under no obligation to allocate a new starting time or refund the green fee.

  2. Failure to present a valid booking voucher. The voucher sent to you is proof of your booking. Failure to present a valid voucher makes it difficult for courses to confirm that you have a booking and are not obliged to let you play.

  3. Failure to present a valid handicap certificate when requested; many courses do set a maximum handicap limit for those players permitted to use the course and will require players to provide proof that they meet these standards before allowing players to tee off.

  4. Golfers being unacceptably dressed. Most courses have dress codes that they will enforce and players deemed to be unsuitably dressed will not be permitted to play. Dress codes tend to be consistent from one course to the next however if you have any doubt it is worth clarifying with the course management before your arrival. Tailored shorts and collared shirts are the accepted "summer" standard. Long socks are not necessary. Golf shoes are essential and most courses require players to wear soft spikes on their shoes. These courses also offer a service, with a small charge, to change your spikes. Our advice, change your spikes before your golfing holiday.

  5. Golfers being considered unfit to play. Courses reserve the right to refuse players onto the golf course if they are considered to be a danger to themselves or others, likely to cause offence or disturbance to others using the course or behave in a manner unacceptable to the management of the course.

  6. Golfers may be required to leave the course during play by the course management due to improper behaviour, or if the course management regards a player’s behaviour or performance is not conducive to the well being of the facilities or others using the course.

Selecting and Booking Tee Times:
When choosing which courses to play it is important to ensure that all members of the party have handicaps that meet the requirements of the courses selected. Details of the maximum handicap acceptable to each course are highlighted with the prices for each course where restrictions apply.

Start times on the day of arrival or departure are problematic due to possible delays or changes in flight times. Any tee times booked by the golfer for these days is done so entirely at the players own risk. Courses are under no obligation to re arrange tee times or refund green fees if changes to flight schedules result in golfers being unable to start at the confirmed tee time.

When selecting tee times it is important to remember that courses will open for play at around 7:30 depending upon the time of year and some will offer start times from the first tee and the tenth tee. Split tee starts are becoming increasingly more popular as it allows courses to get more players on to the course each day but it also means that start times will only be available early in the morning and late morning through the early afternoon. At courses that use split tee starts the most requested starting times around 10:00 am usually will not exist. The times available for selection on this web site reflect these restrictions where they occur.

Courses usually make up all flights to 4 balls. This can lead to a situation where you have to play with players that are not in your party. Singles will usually be required to join flights that have spaces and are not normally permitted to play on their own during peak times.

Course closures do happen even in peak season for various reasons. The information available on this site aims to be as up to date a possible as regards the availability of courses and we endeavour to provide clients with as much information about course closures as we can to ensure we can fulfil the requests of our clients more often than not.

Booking Confirmation and Payments:
We only confirm the start time for the first flight; the other flights will start at consecutive times.

Once we have received confirmation of available tee times from the courses we will forward this information on to you. Please bear in mind that courses do try to offer the nearest possible tee time to that requested so rejecting times offered in the hope of improving the time available does not tend to work.

Tee times will only be considered to be booked once we have received your acceptance of the time allocated by the course and we have passed this acceptance back to them. Until you have confirmed your acceptance of the tee times offered the courses reserve the right to offer the time to other clients. It is therefore in your best interest to advise us of your intentions as soon as possible.

Some courses process bookings as much as 12 months in advance of the date of the round, while others only confirm times about 3 months prior to play. In the case of the Quinta do Lago courses; start times are only confirmed 2 weeks in advance. This is also the case for single golfers, as at most golf courses single golfers are booked into the flight gaps as late as possible.

We have a limited time to accept start times on your behalf and therefore need your confirmation that the times are acceptable:

  1. Within 7 days for start times received 12 weeks or more in advance
  2. Within 3 days for start times received 5 to 12 weeks in advance
  3. The next day for start times received less than 5 weeks in advance.

Payment for the rounds booked will only be charged at the time you confirm your acceptance of the times offered by the courses and this acceptance is passed back to the courses.

Once payment has been received, we will send your golf vouchers for the rounds booked. It is important that you keep these safe as they are to be handed to the course on the day of your round as proof of your booking. Failure to present a valid voucher is likely to result in the course refusing access to the course.

Cancellations and Refunds:
You can change, cancel or reduce golf bookings with us. For bookings up to 5 weeks before arrival we will refund all payments except the booking fees.

We strongly recommend that you check that your travel insurance covers golf abroad. Should the tee time be cancelled by the course owing to unavoidable circumstances such as severe weather, it is normal practice for courses to issue a voucher to play at another time. In the event that the players cannot use this during their stay, we will again supply information for insurance purposes if requested.

In the case of inclement weather that causes the closure of the course, the client should have their voucher stamped by the Reception at the course.

We will do everything possible to help clients however it is always easier to resolve problems in resort that after the holiday has been completed. If you require help our Resort staff are available to assist you and can be contacted at the following email address: algarve@intagroup.org.
