Its dramatic volcanic landscape and fine weather are attractions, along with the island’s nine golf courses and year-round golf. The resorts of Playa de Las Americas (in Adeje) and Los Cristianos (part of Arona) are home to most of the accommodation and golf courses in Tenerife. Playa de Las Americas has two championship golf courses at Costa Adeje and Golf Las Americas.

Abama
This five-star Tenerife golf resort, in the southwest of the island, counts visitors such as Bill Clinton among past guests. The winding, tactical, 18-hole course, designed by Dave Thomas, overlooks the Atlantic Ocean. Although the 6,857 meters of fairways and greens include bunkers of marble sand to negotiate, the course is suitable for all levels of players. Abama Gran Hotel, Golf Resort and Spa offer restaurants, tennis courts and spa facilities, and there is a golf shop, three-hole practice course, and golf school.
With the views, the thousands of palm trees plus desert and tropical species and a layout that is designed to be enjoyed by players of all levels, Abama is a spectacular place to play golf on Tenerife.
Amarilla
Located on the southern coast of Tenerife, near the airport, Amarilla is a 6,077-metre course that is part of the Amarilla Golf and Country Club. This popular 18-hole, Par 72 Tenerife golf course was designed by Donald Steel, who set it in a dramatic mountain and coastal landscape. Natural hazards include the necessity to chip over the incoming tide on the 5th hole. Indeed, 13 holes of the 18-hole, Par 72 course follow the coast. Amarilla is a dramatic place to play golf in Tenerife.
Amarilla has a putting green and driving range, as well as a 9-hole pitch and putt area. The pro shop hires trolleys, buggies, and clubs, while the clubhouse has a pool and tennis courts, and an equestrian centre.
Buenavista
In the rugged Teno mountain range, in Tenerife’s northwest, you’ll find the Seve Ballesteros-designed 18-hole, Par 72 Buenavista course. With 6,090 metres to play, and some holes close to the rocky Atlantic coastline, you have the combined drama of tough playing conditions and ocean views. This is classic golf in Tenerife. The course has two putting greens, practice and chipping areas, and a golf school. The clubhouse, with its terraces overlooking the ocean, has a bar and restaurant.
Golf Costa Adeje
Just 5 km from the resort of Playa de Las Americas, this Tenerife golf course, designed by Pepe Gancedo, hosted the 2003 Spanish Open. Its 27 holes stretch from the mountains down to the sea. The 18-hole, Par 72, championship course is complemented by the 9-hole, Par 66 Las Lagos course. The large colonial-style clubhouse has excellent catering facilities. A three-level 45,000 square-metre driving range includes an elevator for your buggies.
